Volleyball!!!

My team had a double header today, and it was our last region (league) play. We came out on top and we are undefeated 6-0! It is competitive intermurals BUT it really is super competitive and girls here are good players so it is really fun to play. Next weekend is the championship so wish us all luck!

Also just a side note... I am on a Rec battleship team. Its sounds way nerdy, and when I first heard of it I thought it was going to be the board game battleship, but No! We get in canoes in our school pool and you have to sink the other teams! haha It is so much fun. We had a hard time at first but we got some strategy and pulled out a win.

Recent happenings...

Sorry it's been a while since I've wrote on here last, but life is pretty busy! So I made the volleyball team! I am on the team Hurricanes and right now we are 3-0! We had one game last weekend and it was broadcasted so my family was able to watch from home, that was cool! Yesterday we had a double header and we won both, the first game went to 5... so by time we got to our second game we were all beat! haha But it was fun and I really like my team. My roomies and friends came to cheer us on and they got pictures so I will have to post some on here when I get them from her.

After our games I had to rush home to get ready for the Masqurade Ball that I got asked to. Me and all of my roomies got to go in the same group and then we had two friends come with their dates too so we had 16 in our group!!! It was a huge group but it was fun. I wish I could have had a camera at the mirror when all 8 of us girls were trying to get our hair, makeup, and nails done! But it was fun. Then our dates picked us up and we went to Applebees for dinner and then the dance till 11:00. It was a fun night, my date was a goof and had no inhibitions. He was 6'6 red hair, and growing a mustache... :/ But it was fun going with my roomies and getting all dressed up! (I didn't get pictures with my date... sorry!)

This past week was midterms, I can't believe how quickly this semester is going by! I had 3 exams last week (spanish, phyisiology lab, and volleyball theory) and I still don't know how I did on them but I think I did pretty well. And then I have a big physiology exam this tuesday... Wish me luck!

Other then that everything is going great, I still love it here and the people I'm surrounded by. I hope everything is going well for all you back home! I love you!

You know you are at college when...

So this past weekend we had a fun experience. haha Me and my roommates were sitting in the living room doing homework when we get a knock at our door and my roommate Rafi opens it. This guy walks in with a boombox and says, "Oh so this is where the party is at!" and he plugs his music in and starts dancing all by himself in our apartment living room. Then we get another knock on our door and about 15 people come in and start dancing with a strobe light and loud music! haha So they pull us in and have us dancing. Then they said, "k lets go to the next apartment!" So they brought us along and we went through 5 more apartments and had our own little dance parties. People looked at us like we were crazy at first but it was way funny and pretty fun! So you know you are in a college apartment when you have crazy dancers show up in your living room.

Demolition Derby








So this week has been very eventful with the first FULL week of school! I will be studying a ton for my spanish class and for physiology. This week on Wednesday I got to play volleyball in my volleyball coaching class, and it was like being in Heaven! I've missed playing sooo much, but this week are the tryouts for the competitive teams and the girls up here are really good so wish me luck. I have heard that there are a lot of girls in my situation where they gave up full ride volleyball scholarships to come here. So it'll be way fun, I can hardly wait!
On friday we had a little pasta dinner for our Temple to Temple relay team, and then we all went to bed way early cause we had our race at 7:20 Saturday morning and we had to be there at 6:40. To start off our race from Rexburg Temple Zac ran 2.5 miles, then he passed off to Tom who ran 3.3ish miles, then Nikki ran 7.4ish miles, then Micah ran 5.5 for me because I was still really sick with a cold, and then I ran her leg which was 5 miles, then Alyssa ran 6.9 miles, then Sara ran 4 miles, then Bobby ran 2 miles, and then we all ran about 1/4 of a mile to the Idaho Falls temple! It was such a cool experience, even though I am really sore it was a blast! EVERY team was cheering for each other when we would drive past a runner we would all honk and scream for them. It really helped when I'd be running and feel like I couldn't go any farther to have a bunch of cars drive by and scream for me. My roommate Nikki had a good analogy for this run. She said, the people who go before us know what it is like, they are like our ancestors and then they "pass on" and cheer for us from somewhere else, while those still who need to come (our descendants) are learning from our example and cheering us on because we cannot give it up or else they won't have a chance to come show what they have prepared. I thought it was a good analogy.
On Saturday night we heard about a Demolition Derby in St. Anthony (Very ghetto town)so me, Sara, Bobby, and Zac went. It was so much fun! I love demolition derby's cause they just run cars into each other until they don't work anymore. haha It wasn't as good as the Fairview one that I went with Griffins family to, but it was still fun!

2 years!

Two years ago today was my first date with my best friend in this whole world! (Homecoming senior year) I am so grateful for the influence he has had on my life and helping me grow to be a better person. He is my best friend I have ever had and I can tell him anything and I know that he will be there for me to listen and give me advice. It has been a fun two years getting to know each other better and I'm grateful we are where we are now in life. I'm grateful he is serving our Savior in Ecuador and I wouldn't want him anywhere else! Thanks for the memories Griff!!!
